TRADITIONAL PEELING, FOAM WASH & FOAM MASSAGE
The tradition of the Turkish bath extends far back, to a time before the Turks had reached Anatolia. When the Turks arrived in Anatolia they brought with them one bathing tradition, and were confronted with another, that of Romans and Byzantines with certain local variants. The traditions merged, and with the addition of the Moslem concern for cleanliness and its concomitant respect for the uses of water, there arose an entirely new concept, that of the Turkish Bath. In time it became an institution with its system of ineradicable customs.
TURKISH BATH (HAMAM):
It is a place where peeling (KESE) foam and massage is made by heating up the body in a hot steamy place.
PEELING : Human body breathes in two ways
- First is through the lungs
- Second is through the skin
Peeling ( KESE – SILK GLOVE ) is performed in the Turkish bath, it removes dead skin cells and allows new skin to come up. Breathing becomes easier for the body as it opens the arteries and that allows the blood circulation to increase.
FOAM WASH :
The body which has been cleaned with peeling (KESE), is washed with an aromatic foam which relaxes the body.
FOAM MASSAGE :
The foam massage allows the skin and muscles to become more relaxed and softened (in a hot steamy place) to get the body ready for an oil massage.
